Executive assistant CV writing service · by Lily Shippen, EA recruiter
An executive assistant CV writing service, from the recruiter who does the shortlisting
Executive Assistant CV is a CV writing service for executive assistants, personal assistants, chiefs of staff and business support professionals, and it's built on my screening interview, which means the questions I ask EAs across the desk, turned into software called Margot, who interviews you and writes your CV from your answers. It costs £39 once, or £59 with job advert targeting, interview prep and a LinkedIn rewrite, and every finished CV is scored out of 100, so if it scores under 80 Margot keeps working on it with you, free, for up to three more rounds.

What you are buying
Most CV writing services are a form and a writer you never meet, whereas this one is my interview, because I've spent thirteen years asking EAs the same questions across a desk and Margot asks you exactly those, in the order I'd ask them: who you support and at what scale, what you are trusted to decide without asking, what nearly went wrong and what you did about it, the numbers behind your work, the process you built that outlasted you. She pushes when an answer is vague, the way I do, and she writes each answer into a line of your CV as you go, so that you watch it build in front of you.
You don't have to type, because you can tap Speak and talk and the browser writes it down for you to check before you send, and at any point you can also hand her a recommendation from a former boss, a note from an appraisal or a thank-you email, pasted, dictated or as a file, and she works anything true and specific into the CV and tells you where it went.
When she has what she needs, she writes your profile, orders your achievements strongest first, checks the whole document the way I would before it went to a client, and marks it out of 100 with the same scorer that marks CVs free on the homepage, and then you choose from four designed templates, download it as PDF and Word, and change any line by clicking it.
Who it is for
- Executive assistants at every level, from a first EA role to EA to a CEO, founder, chair or board.
- Personal assistants who want a CV that reads at the level they work at, not the level their title suggests.
- Chiefs of staff and EAs stepping up into chief of staff work, where the CV has to show decisions shaped as well as supported.
- Business support professionals: team assistants, office managers, executive coordinators.
- Career changers moving into EA work from client services, hospitality, legal, HR, teaching, the armed forces or events. Margot translates what you have done into the language an EA search is run on, without inventing anything.
Why a recruiter's interview beats a writer
I've read tens of thousands of executive assistant CVs in thirteen years of placing EAs, and the ones that get shortlisted have the same things in common. They bring the job to life rather than listing it, they show scale rather than adjectives, they say what the EA decides alone and up to what limit, they carry a figure on almost every line, they give the current role the most space, and they could only belong to one person.
A writer who has never sat on the hiring side can produce good sentences. What they can't supply is the question set, because you can only answer what you think to ask, and if you knew exactly what to ask, your CV would already be working. Every question Margot asks exists because a real EA CV failed a real search without it. That judgement is the product, and it's mine.
What it costs
- The CV, £39, once. The full interview, whether you start from an existing CV or from nothing. Four templates you can switch between, PDF and Word downloads, a cover letter, and seven days of edits after Margot finishes. Click any line to change it, or tell her what to change.
- The Search Kit, £59, once. Everything in The CV, plus job advert targeting, paste the advert at the start of the interview and Margot angles every question and every line at it, or paste one after, for up to ten adverts, an interview preparation sheet written from your own CV, and your LinkedIn profile written to match it: headline, about section, every role, the skills to add in order, the settings to check and three posts in your voice. Everything stays open for 90 days from purchase, because a search takes weeks.
There is no subscription and nothing renews, payment is taken by Stripe, and the terms and privacy policy say the rest in plain English.
The guarantee
Every finished CV is marked out of 100 on the five things I shortlist on, which are personality, proof, content, trust and format, and if yours scores under 80, Margot names the weak dimension, asks the three questions that would lift it, writes your answers in and marks it again, free, for up to three rounds. The guarantee is a promise about the standard of the document, because interviews and offers depend on far more than a CV and nobody honest promises those.
How it works, step by step
- Score your current CV free on the homepage. You see the score, the five dimensions and the three changes that would move it most, before you pay anything.
- Buy once. Stripe takes payment and sends you straight to Margot. If you scored a CV first, she has already read it.
- The interview. If you have a CV, Margot reads it and asks only about what it is missing. If you are starting from nothing, she asks everything, in her own order, following what you tell her. Most people finish in a sitting; there is no timer.
- The finished CV. Profile written, achievements ordered, desk check done, score given. Choose a template, download PDF and Word, and edit any line.
- Search Kit buyers paste the job advert, at the start of the interview or after, and Margot angles the CV at it, then write the LinkedIn profile to match and download the interview sheet.
What it is not
Margot is software, not a person, and the site says so everywhere. I don't personally write each CV; my judgement does, built into every question and every writing rule, and my team reviews the standard she works to. Everything on your CV comes from what you tell her or from the CV you give her. She's instructed never to invent a fact, figure or employer, and the desk check at the end catches the things a tired writer misses. You're responsible for the truth of your own CV, as you would be with any writer, and I'd want it no other way.
See the standard before you buy
The complete example CV shows what a finished document looks like, annotated with why each part reads the way it does. The before and after examples show the same career written twice. The guide to writing an EA CV is the method Margot follows, section by section, if you would rather do it yourself.
Common questions
How much does an executive assistant CV writing service cost?
This one costs £39 once for the CV, or £59 for the Search Kit with targeting, interview prep and LinkedIn. Human CV writers in the UK typically charge £150 to £500 for an EA CV and take several days. The difference here is that the interview is the recruiter's own, and it is available the moment you sit down.
Is an AI CV writer any good for an executive assistant?
A general AI CV writer is not, because it does not know what an EA recruiter shortlists on and it invents. This one is different in two ways: the questions and writing rules are a recruiter's, and it only writes from what you tell it. Every finished CV is scored by the same marker that scores the free CVs on the homepage, so you can see the standard before you pay.
Do I need an existing CV?
No, because if you have one Margot reads it first and asks only about the gaps, and if you don't she interviews you from the start, and the price is the same either way.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in full, if you cancel within 14 days and haven't started the interview, whereas once Margot has written your CV the service has been performed and the fee isn't refundable, though the guarantee still applies, so if it scores under 80 she keeps working on it free for up to three more rounds.
Who is behind it?
Lily Shippen, founder of the Lily Shippen recruitment agency, which places EAs, PAs and chiefs of staff across the UK, and of The Core Standard and eavolve. There is more on the About page.
