ABOUT · A NOTE FROM LILY SHIPPEN
I'm the recruiter behind Margot.
Executive Assistant CV is my screening interview, written down and turned into software, and this page is who I am, where the standard comes from and what the product is and is not, in my own words.
LILY SHIPPEN · FOUNDER · LILY SHIPPEN, THE CORE STANDARD AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT CV
Thirteen years of shortlisting
I founded Lily Shippen, one of the UK's leading executive assistant, personal assistant and chief of staff recruitment agencies, at 22. Over thirteen years I have placed EAs and PAs with founders, CEOs, boards, family offices and private households across the UK and every industry, with many of my clients in London and Manchester.
To do that I have read tens of thousands of CVs and shortlisted the ones that worked, which means I know within seconds whether a CV is going on the shortlist, because I am the one doing the shortlisting, and that judgement, applied to every CV this site writes, is the whole product.
I also founded The Core Standard, the scenario-based assessment employers use to see how an EA actually works before they hire, and eavolve, the development community for EAs, PAs and chiefs of staff. Between them the three businesses cover hiring an EA, assessing one and helping one grow. This site is the candidate's side of that work.
What Margot is, honestly
Margot is not a person but my screening interview turned into software, which means the questions I ask across the desk, the follow-ups I push on and the writing rules I hold a CV to before I would put it in front of a client, and the name is there because it makes the whole thing feel like a conversation instead of a form.
I do not personally write each CV, but my judgement does, because it is built into every question Margot asks and every rule she writes by, and my team reviews the standard she works to, so if a line on your finished CV would not pass my desk then the rules are wrong and I want to know, and if you email me I will read it myself.
The standard every CV is marked against
The free scorer and the finished CVs are marked out of 100 on the same five things, because these are what decide a shortlist at my desk:
See where your CV stands first.
Drop it in and Margot marks it out of 100 on the five things above, free, before we ask for anything. Questions about the site or a CV come to me: lily@executiveassistantcv.co.uk.
